2020 COVID-19 Policies

The safety of our students, faculty and families is our number one priority. Since the stay-at-home order in March, we switched to entirely virtual classes, held a hybrid summer session, and have produced 2 virtual performances! We continue to prioritize community, connection, and performance opportunities as well as our usual high standard of training.

This fall our Mass Ballet Ensemble will present an original story ballet “Dancing for a Spell” on Saturday, October 24th (Raindate Oct. 25th) as part of our annual Jack-O-Lantern Jam.

Students in pre-ballet and up are invited to participate in our  14th annual Nutcracker Performance.

Mass Ballet is now on a Trimester Schedule with 5 Sessions.  This will allow us to learn and make adjustments as we go as well as give Zoom Breaks to reduce Zoom Fatigue.  You will see the Trimester/Semester Schedule in the List of Important dates within this document, which is also on our website.  Trimester 1 (2- 6 week sessions, Trimester 2 (2 – 6 week sessions), Trimester 3 (1 – 9 week session).

  • All classes are Virtual unless noted to be In-person.  Virtual classes end by 6:30/6:45 at the latest so dancers can enjoy a family dinner, down time or have time for additional homework.  All In-Person classes are Ballet classes exclusively taught by Ms. Powers with CDC guidelines and safety precautions in-place.  (Note: Masks and social distancing are required for all In-Person classes.)
  • You can sign up for all virtual classes or the hybrid program.  If your dancer is only interested in taking in-person classes please understand they will be limited to the in-person classes available in their designated cohort/pod. Our goal is to provide a minimum 3 in-person ballet classes to our Youth Division and Junior Division dancers and a minimum of 1 in-person class per week to our Pre-Professional Division. 

Mass Ballet School Days

Mass Ballet will be trialing a new program Session 1/Trimester 1.  We will be offering Mass Ballet School Days for dancers in 3rd-12th grade We will have a former school teacher (comfortable with supporting Elementary through High School curricula) and Ms. Powers onsite to offer any assistance that may be needed throughout the day.  Students will do their school work socially distanced at designated tables with masks on.  We understand they may need to lower their masks to talk to their teacher from time to time.  All snacks, drinks and lunch will also be consumed in their designated spot.  If dancers need to get up and stretch or use the restroom they may do so with their mask on.  If they need a mask break Ms. Powers is happy to take them outside and socially distance from them during this break.  We ask that you only sign up your dancer if he/she is a strong independent worker and only needs basic supervision, support and/or redirection. A level appropriate ballet class will be offered after they have an after school snack/break.  All food/drink must be brought from home. Dancers need to bring all materials needed for school including a headset/ear buds as well as all their uniform requirements for their ballet class. 

Cost is $65. Space is limited.  Drop Off/Pick Up and Ballet Class time to be determined based on enrollment.  This information will be sent out after Enrollment period ends.

Enrollment will open Sept. 3rd and close Sept. 25th.
