Dance with us this summer with joy, imagination, and tenacity!

Registration is now OPEN for Mass Ballet’s 2024 summer programs! Sign up EARLY to secure your dancers’ spot and save on our Story Book Dance Camp, Youth Dance Camp, Daily Intermediate/Advanced classes, and Senior Intensive.

We offer programs to supplement year-round training and fun ways to try dance with us for the first time! All Mass Ballet students are encouraged to continue their training in the summer to support their growth as artists and athletes.

Leadership Program, Daily Classes and private lessons for for ages 10-18 or current Mass Ballet level 3-advanced focus on technique, stretching/conditioning, building confidence and artistry.

Story Book Dance Camp for ages 3-6 is a half day of ballet, creative movement, crafts, and imaginative play.

Youth Dance Camp is a full day of creative fun for ages 5-11. It culminates in an original weekly performance including acting, dance, and characters and story created by the students.

Intermediate and Advanced Dancer Options

We offer a leadership program with daily classes, drop in classes July 8-August 2 and private and semi-private lessons during the rest of August. These options are available to rising Mass Ballet level 4s (2023-23 level 3) and above.

Daily Classes and Mentorship Opportunities (Age 10-18)

  • Monday-Friday, July 10-August 4
  • For dancers ages 10-18 or current (2023-2024 school year) Mass Ballet level 3-advanced.
  • Daily ballet class plus pointe, modern, jazz or conditioning from 1:00-3:00 PM.
  • Dancers may be dropped off at 1:00 PM for class, or can choose to spend the morning assisting and mentoring younger dancers in our Story Book and Youth Dance Camps.(Choose “Class only” or “Class and leadership” when registering)
  • $200 per week 
  • Extended day option also available.

Daily Drop-in Classes

Classes run Monday-Friday, 1:00-3:00 PM. Ballet will be offered alongside pointe, conditioning, modern, and jazz on a rotating basis. Students may be dropped off for self-warmup any time after 12:00 PM. Dancers should wear leotards, tights and ballet shoes and bring layers, pointe shoes if applicable, and lots of water.

Private and Semi-Private Lessons

Private and semi-private lessons are available from August 6-September 5. Each lesson time has 4 slots assigned to it. You are welcome to coordinate with friends and classmates to sign up together, otherwise the slots will be available to any student. By signing up for a lesson, you agree to pay the full rate if no one else signs up. Payment is due via cash or venmo at the time of your lesson. Rates are as follows:

  • 60 Minute Private Lesson for 1 student: $80
  • 2 students: $50 Each
  • 3 students: $33 Each
  • 4 students: $25 Each

The studio will be open 1/2 hour before lessons begin and dancers are expected to arrive 30 minutes before their lesson to warm up.

Story Book Dance Camp Age 3-6

  • Monday-Friday, July 8-August 2, 9:30-12:30
  • Daily ballet class and creative movement based around a different picture book every day
  • Active games, art, crafts, reading, and drama activities 
  • Early drop-off available
  • Parents and caregivers can drop children off or watch from our waiting room on closed-circuit TV.
  • Informal end of session performance.
  • Tuition is $225 per week. Register before April 1 and save $25.
  • Save $25 for each additional week of camp!
  • Students will need a snack and water. 

Youth Dance Camp Age 5-11

  • Monday-Friday, July 8-August 2, 9:30-3:00
  • Exceptional quality child-centric dance training including ballet, jazz, modern, musical theater, and improvisation.
  • Activities that compliment dance training including acting, art, crafts, dance history and active games and play.
  • Original weekly performance including acting, dance, and characters and story created by the students.
  • Walks to Danforth St. Park (weather permitting) for outdoor yoga, games and free play.
  • Time to form relationships with older dance students as friends and role models.
  • Students will need lunch, a snack, and plenty of water.
  • Early drop off and late pick up available.
  • Tuition is $400 per week.  – register before April 1 and save $25
  • Save $25 for each additional week of camp!

Extended Day Options

Early Drop Off is available from 8:00 AM-9:30 AM and 3:00-5:30 PM. Can be pro-rated based on days and hours needed. Cost is $15 per hour. If 5 or more children register, cost will be discounted to $10/hour and your account will be credited. Extended day is not available on Fridays. If you need extended hours, we recommend signing up as soon as possible and we will let you know if we are able to discount the rates. Email us with your specific hours needed. Cost shown below is based on the maximum hours available.

General Information

  • Multi-week and sibling discounts available. 
  • COVID Policies
  • Your account will be credited the full cost to use in another session if you need to quarantine for COVID exposure or illness.
  • Classes require 5 enrolled students to run. Smaller classes may be combined or offered a different session.
  • Students in full-day sessions will be emailed information about clothing and shoes for park days.

Girls/Feminine Dress Code

Age 8 and up: Any style solid color leotard, pink or flesh colored ballet tights, ballet shoes to match tights, and hair in a ballet bun. Intermediate and Advanced Dancers should also bring pointe shoes only if previously promoted to pointe. Leggings or shorts and layers permitted for non-ballet classes. No jewelry except small earrings.

Age 3-7: Any style solid color leotard with or without attached skirt. Pink or flesh colored ballet tights or white ankle socks, ballet shoes to match tights, and hair secured off face. No jewelry except small earrings.

Boys/Masculine Dress Code:

Plain white t-shirt tucked inside black opaque ballet tights or black exercise shorts with white ankle socks and black or white ballet shoes.
